C&C selected the most stunning corner of Iceland for their elopement: the Þjórsárdalur Valley. During our Zoom call, they mentioned not having a particular location in mind and were open to our expert suggestions for their wedding day. I didn't hesitate to recommend the Valley of Tears in the southern Icelandic Highlands. This epic spot is teeming with waterfalls and boasts some of the bluest water I've ever seen. We also explored Haifoss, a traditional Viking turf house, and a breathtaking, intimate waterfall for their elopement ceremony.
As has become customary in our recent Iceland elopements, Z from the humanist organization Siðmennt officiated. We adore his lively and personalized approach to ceremonies, not to mention his knack for handling unforeseen situations. He's always down for everything!
C&C's day began at the Austurey cottages, charming wooden and glass cabins with breathtaking views. Regrettably, the weather wasn't entirely cooperative, with a yellow wind warning in effect. Nonetheless, we all maintained a spirited and positive attitude throughout the day, which made it an enjoyable adventure for all of us, despite the ever-changing weather. Amid strong winds, rain, and bouts of sunshine with a few rainbows, C&C had an incredibly beautiful and meaningful Iceland wedding experience. In fact, it was an epic day for all of us and without a doubt, one of the most exhilarating yet beautiful days we've shared with a couple this season. Not only because of the picturesque locations they chose for their wedding day timeline but also due to their unwavering joy and resilience in the face of harsh Iceland weather.
We're extremely thankful that couples as lovely inside and out as C&C entrust us to be part of one of the most significant days of their lives as their Iceland wedding photographers. A heartfelt thanks once again to C&C.
See you on the next adventure!
