HOW TO ELOPE IN ICELAND
FAQ´S
WHERe DO YOU LiVe?
After visiting the country countless times, we decided to move to Iceland, so now we are currently living in Reykjavik. However we are from Catalonia, Spain. We love to travel and we’ve seen very different parts of the world, but our favorite places have always been in Iceland. We just love this country so much.
It’s a combination of the people, nature and the moody weather too (why not?!) that makes it so special. Nevertheless, we also love to spend time in our country home, Catalonia, and we can’t wait to travel wherever your stories take us!
HOW MaNY PHOTOS DO We GET AND WhEn?
Because the number of photos delivered can vary based on different timelines, locations, activities, and so on, we don’t like to give a specific amount we deliver, but it is typically around 30-50 photos per hour booked. We usually shoot thousands and then go through and pick out the very best to edit and put together a gorgeous gallery just for you!
About the timing, our goal is to deliver your images as quickly as possible while making sure everything looks perfect, so we give ourselves a maximum of 3 months to edit elopements and weddings and 1 month for other sessions.
WHAT iF The WEaThER IS TERRiBLe?
As locals in Iceland we don’t stop our life because of a bit of a rain, otherwise we couldn’t live at all. So you’ll have to be open minded weatherly speaking in Iceland. The weather changes very quickly and sometimes it can be tricky even to predict. However we have worked in all kinds of weather like soft rain, snowstorm, bright sun or wild wind (or everything at the same time). Of course, there are some days that it is impossible, even dangerous, to get outside the car and in this case we’ll just reschedule the shoot.
Actually, cold, wind, rain and fog are part of this Icelandic moody weather and we love that so much! We totally recommend being open minded about this and just think about it as a lifetime adventure!
WE ARE LOOKiNG FOR A DESTinATION PhOTOGRAPHER, WiLL YOU TRAVeL FOR OUR WEDDiNG?
Of course we are! Our suitcase is already done the minute you ask us to travel with you :) Traveling is one of our favorite things in the world and we have been to many places so we are sure we could plan something amazing together!
ARE YOU ALSO GUIDES?
Although Gerard is a certified outdoor guide and we are absolutely comfortable hiking with couples in remote locations (and we carry safety gear if needed); for any activities requiring a harness, technical rope work, rafting, extreme off-roading, prachuting, rappelling, private flights etc. we require that our couple work with a local and certified mountain/outdoor guide.
We are always happy to recommend guides and support the local community and ensure we are all upholding a high standard of safety for everyone involved.
ARE YOU WEDDiNg PLANNERS?
If you need someone to plan your entire wedding we can recommend a local wedding planner. However we will be there for all kinds of specific questions, help with the timeline and vendor recommendations.
We are also experts when it comes to locations in Iceland, so we know a lot of hidden gems and best places that remain non-tourist for ceremonies and intimate shootings.
CAN YOU PHOTOSHOP US TO LOOK BeTTER?
We are 100% body positive but we also want you to feel beautiful and perfect on your day so, we won’t photoshop parts of your body to look another way than they are (we are not going to make you thinner), but we will retouch scars, bruises or acné if needed ;)
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
We require a 25% deposit to reserve your date. This amount will be deducted from the total amount which is due in full the day the services are rendered. Payment must be made by international bank transfer to the account number that we will provide to you, once the contract is signed.
WE’VE NEVER DONE A PHOTOSHOOT, HOW WILL YOU GET GOOD PHOTOS OF US?
Don’t worry. We don’t expect you to be professional models. First of all, we’ll take some time to get to know you and probably hike for at least a few minutes before pulling up the cameras. When we do start taking photos, the process is extremely chill.
We’ll give you easy instructions, asking you to move and interact together in ways that allow us to capture candid moments in a natural and documentary style.
We give prompts and directions that include movements, words, and feelings. During photo sessions, you'll sometimes forget we're right there!
